Course Open / Closed Open
Last update 7:23 a.m. on 11.03.25
Setup    Winter course White / Yellow / Red
Preferred lies In use Please refer to Local Rules on first tee notice board
Bunkers In play (with the exception of any marked as GUR) Optional free relief is only permitted from those bunkers marked as GUR
Electric trollies Permitted Please follow traffic management (lines, hoops & ropes). They are in place to (1) manage course traffic, reducing wear and tear at pinch points and / or to (2) prevent players from walking across areas that are difficult to negotiate (and in winter conditions could result in a trip / slip if attempted)
Buggies  Not permitted             Following an assessment of ground conditions, it has been determined that if buggy use were to be permitted: (1) excessive levels of damage would be caused to the course and (2) there would be a disproportionately high risk to health and safety
Practice facilities Open Vehicular access to the upper practice ground is not permitted, owing to ground conditions
Additional information - 1 18th hole - Play to the main green Please see notes below / Local Rules
Additional information - 2 13th / 14th hole Due to extensive footfall combined with prolonged periods of wet weather, areas to the right-hand side of the 13th green and also around the men’s 14th tee have started to struggle with wear and tear. Therefore, a large area to the right-hand side of the 13th green has been staked and roped off as GUR. Relief is compulsory, to one of the drop zones. Drop zones can be found at the front / back of the green. You should use the one that is nearest to where the ball came to rest. See Local Rules for further information. Also, the frame has been set up on the old 13th temporary green, for use as a tee on the 14th hole on a temporary basis. We will then be able to keep the hole in play, and maintain ‘qualifying conditions’. To address risk / health and safety, please: (1) tee off from the 13th, (2) walk up towards green, leaving bags / trolleys by the 14th tee frame, (3) play the 13th hole out, (4) having finished the hole, stand at the back of the 13th green and call the next group up and (5) walk to the 14th and tee off only when those behind you have teed off on the 13th
Additional information - 3 Fairway verti-draining Fairway verti-draining continues Monday 10th March onwards. The process breaks up the soil compaction that is caused by footfall, trolleys, buggies and green keeping machinery. This encourages favourable conditions for healthy root growth. By breaking up compaction, roots can penetrate more deeply into the soil. The ground also drains better. Where possible, we will try to work on a back 9 hole AM and front 9 hole PM, with the aim of avoiding most players. The hole being worked on will be taken out of use in its entirety. There will be signage on the tee, asking players to walk the hole and proceed to the next tee. The process will cause flints to be drawn out of the ground. The green staff will collect the flints up, as soon as possible. In the meantime, please do not pick the flints up / move them. If, for example the flints are picked up and left in the rough they can damage our equipment. For matches, our suggestion is that you agree with your opponent(s) that a hole found to be ‘out of play’ is an agreed half, before commencing your round. Apologies for any inconvenience, but this process is essential to maintain the health of our fairways to the best of our ability. It is being undertaken outside of the main ‘playing season’ and we have to take advantage of the fairly dry spell that we’ve had over the last few days, which is conducive to the process.
